Most people arrive here already dreading a full tear-out quote. The good news is that surface damage and structural failure look different once you know what to check.

One thing worth saying plainly: if you want to resurface an asphalt driveway, a concrete overlay is not the answer. Blacktop flexes with temperature, rigid concrete does not, and the two separate. Asphalt surfaces get restored through a mill and overlay with new hot mix, or removed entirely and replaced with concrete. Anyone telling you to pour a thin concrete topping over blacktop is setting you up for delamination.

1. On-site assessment.

4. Bond coat.

Broom finish is the workhorse around here, and for good reason. Stamped overlays in slate, brick, or ashlar patterns give you a hardscape look without rebuilding anything, similar to what goes into stamped driveways.

Can you resurface a cracked concrete driveway?
